CEP Student Programme


Are you an ARU healthcare student interested in innovation? Do you have an innovative idea to improve healthcare? Join us for the CEP ARU Student Programme. 

We are pleased to announce a new pilot programme for 2023 with Anglia Ruskin University’s Anglia Ruskin Enterprise Academy (AREA) – The CEP Student Programme.

What is the CEP ARU Student Programme?  

Delivered by the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme and Anglia Ruskin Enterprise Academy (AREA), the CEP Student Programme, is a free programme which aims to engage and inspire healthcare students to innovate and look for creative solutions to the problems facing healthcare. 

Through a series of educational events and workshops focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship; to talks from founders and healthcare professionals; the course aims to enhance your development and allow you to discover the innovative startup world of healthcare.

How is it delivered?

The programme will launch with an in-person networking event on the 16thMay at ARU Chelmsford hosted by Professor Tony Young, National Clinical Lead for Innovation NHS England and Director of Medical Improvement, ARU and will feature a number of entrepreneurs from the national NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme.  

The core programme delivery will take place online via 6 sessions and run for one-month from Monday 15th May 2023 to Tuesday 6th June 2023. 

The sessions are online via zoom on the following dates:   

  • Learning Session One: Researching your innovation: Thursday 18 May 2023 at 7pm  
  • Founders Learning Session One: Tuesday 23 May at 7pm  
  • Learning Session Two: Understanding your innovation: Thursday 25 May 2023 at 7pm 
  • Founders Learning Session Two: Tuesday 30 May at 7pm 
  • Articulating your ideas – perfect your pitch, Session Three: Thursday 1 June 2023 at 7pm  
  • Founders Learning Session Three: Tuesday 6th June 2023 at 7pm  

The programme will be CPD accredited, and a certificate of completion will be issued if you attend all sessions. 

Who can apply?  

You need to be an ARU Student and studying courses where you will eventually work in the NHS, these will include but will not be limited to medical, nursing and midwifery, paramedics, pharmacy, hearing and vision courses, and clinical science. We welcome applications from both undergraduate and postgraduate students. 

You do not have to have a full formed idea or project but must have an interest in innovation. You will need to be able to attend all 6 online sessions to be awarded your certificate of completion.
