The NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme (NHS CEP) is delighted to announce Mantra Systems Limited as an official Programme Partner, recognising their long-standing commitment to supporting clinical entrepreneurs navigating the medical device and digital health landscape.
Mantra Systems was founded by CEO Dr Paul Hercock, himself a former NHS Clinical Entrepreneur, following his own innovation journey through the Programme. Paul’s experience of taking an idea from concept to market highlighted the complexities of regulatory approval, inspiring the creation of Mantra Systems with a clear mission: to make medical device regulation more accessible, proportionate and supportive for innovators.

Since its inception, both Paul and the Mantra Systems team have been active supporters of the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme, contributing their expertise through mentoring, educational webinars and tailored regulatory insight over a number of years. Their practical, real‑world guidance has helped countless clinical entrepreneurs better understand regulatory requirements and accelerate safe innovation for patients.
More recently, Mantra Systems supported the Programme through a highly valued regulatory talk delivered in collaboration with B. Braun, offering expert perspectives on medical device regulation and industry expectations. This session exemplified the collaborative, educator‑led approach that Mantra Systems brings to the NHS CEP community.
Reflecting on the partnership, an NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme Lead Polly Sullivan said:
“Mantra Systems and Paul Hercock have been trusted contributors to the Programme for many years. Their deep understanding of regulation, combined with genuine empathy for the innovator journey, makes them an outstanding Programme Partner. We are thrilled to formalise this relationship and look forward to working together to support the next generation of medical device entrepreneurs.”
The NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme looks forward to seeing this partnership go from strength to strength, continuing to empower clinicians to turn bold ideas into safe, impactful innovations that benefit patients and the NHS.
