Making a Difference in Malawi

Last month, Dr Tamsin Holland Brown, Paediatrician, Co-Clinical Lead on the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme, and Founder of Hear Glue Ear, embarked on a remarkable journey to Malawi.

Following initial work in the country, the team was awarded a Global Health Partnerships grant of over £100,000 to deliver ear and hearing care training across Malawi, with HearGlueEar headsets provided as part of the programme. Malawian experts led the training, supported by Dr Holland Brown and a dedicated UK team, with the mission to train more ear and hearing health workers, conduct research, and strengthen connections with the Ministry of Health, helping reach and support even more people across the country.

Hear Glue Ear is an innovative hearing solution designed to transform the development, learning, and prospects of children with hearing loss. The headsets are affordable, simple in design and pair seamlessly via Bluetooth to a microphone or smart devices, enabling children to hear better and engage more fully with the world around them.
