Our Entrepreneurs: Amik Aneja

Meet #OurEntrepreneurs . Today we welcome Amik Aneja, A GP from from Hertfordshire and West Essex ICB.

I have been a GP for 18 years and I am the Senior Partner at Old Harlow Health Centre, which is rated Outstanding by the CQC. I am a GP Trainer and have an interest in education. I am passionate about personalised/continuity of care provision which is I believe is essential for the Doctor-Patient relationship in General Practice.

My previous roles have included being a board member in the West Essex Clinical Commissioning Group from April 2013 to July 2022, during which I was appointed as the Clinical Lead for Planned, and later, Unplanned Care. I subsequently became the Harlow Locality Lead for the Herts and West Essex Integrated Care Board from July 2022 until April 2024. I was also a Director Of Stellar Healthcare, our GP Federation from April 2021 to April 2024. I was appointed as the Clinical Director for Harlow North Primary Care Network from April 2021 to April 2024.

I relinquished these roles in April 2024, and in June 2024 I became a Co-founder and Clinical Safety Officer of Medivys Ltd, an AI startup focussed on developing secure solutions to support clinical staff.

GPs are managing increasingly complex patients with multiple chronic conditions—often within just ten-minute consultations. At the same time, the volume and complexity of administrative tasks, such as processing letters and results, continues to grow. This shift of care responsibilities from secondary to primary care—without equivalent resources—is known as “right drift,” and it’s contributing to technostress and burnout among GPs. The administrative burden is not only affecting wellbeing but also impacting the ability to deliver personalised, high-quality care.

Medivys Ltd is responding to this challenge. We are a healthtech/medtech AI startup developing a secure document processing neural network solution for General Practice. Our product, +ministr8™, is designed to support GPs by streamlining administrative workflows with greater efficiency and accuracy. By automating and enhancing the processing of clinical correspondence, +ministr8™ helps practices code and action letters more reliably, supports long-term condition management, and enables a population health approach that strengthens continuity of care.

We believe +ministr8™ can become a foundational tool across the NHS—facilitating better information sharing, saving time and money, and ultimately improving patient outcomes.

I discovered the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme at HETT 2024 and and I’m excited to join a community of like-minded entrepreneurs, mentors, and leaders who are passionate about transforming healthcare.

I’m looking for guidance to ensure Medivys Ltd is investment-ready, with a clear and compelling strategy to attract further funding. I also hope to gain the knowledge, networks, and insights needed to successfully navigate NHS pathways and deploy our product, +ministr8™, into real-world clinical settings. In addition, I’m eager to connect and collaborate with fellow entrepreneurs, sharing ideas and building partnerships that can accelerate innovation and amplify our collective impact across the NHS and beyond.

Our primary goal is to launch +ministr8™ and begin generating revenue within the NHS, while laying the groundwork for international expansion. With the support of the programme, I hope to accelerate Medivys Ltd’s journey, build a scalable and impactful business, and ultimately reduce the administrative burden and stress faced by my GP colleagues across the country.

Healthcare is becoming ever more complex with increasing amounts of information that is available to both the professional and the patient. We do not have enough staff to manage current demand. Innovation is essential in order to support our ability as clinicians/professionals to manage our patients.
