I am a co-founder of Salutare—a digital health start-up which has developed Dialogue, a cloud-based platform for clinical referrals to multidisciplinary teams. Dialogue supports a digital phlebotomy platform, which facilitates convenient and timely blood collection, and enables pharmacy phlebotomy to be developed across the NHS.

Patients are frequently turned away from phlebotomy clinics due to forgotten paper forms, and 80% of all blood tubes are re-labelled to go onto the analyser. This came to a head during COVID, with telemedicine. This led us to design a digital phlebotomy platform, which operates seamlessly anytime and anywhere.

The platform connects community diagnostic centres (CDCs) to electronic orders which supports to speed up the phlebotomy process. In addition, it removes the manual labelling of tubes, and its scanning updates the system with the exact time and date taken.

Our solution aims to save money in Pathology through reduced re-labelling and mitigates labelling errors and accelerates analysis. Additionally, it contributes to environmental sustainability whilst empowering doctors with real-time, precise data

I discovered the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme through advertisements, which led me to apply.

With the programmes help, I aim to access networking opportunities, receive practical advice, and benefit from innovation support.

Our next steps are to expand our product (Clearinghouse) in the marketplace.

Progress in healthcare is inevitably linked to research, risk-taking, and innovation.
