In our latest #OurEntrepreneurs profile we meet cohort 8 Clinical Entrepreneur Kevin Peter Moore, Professor of Hepatology.
Tell us a bit about yourself
I am a consultant physician, a hepatologist and clinical pharmacologist, with a background in Biochemistry (BSc and PhD). I established the Applied Medical Sciences BSc programme at UCL a decade ago, which has supported over 1000 students.
Name: Kevin Peter Moore.
Occupation: Professor of Hepatology.
Location: Royal Free London.

I am a co-founder of Salutare—a digital health start-up which has developed Dialogue, a cloud-based platform for clinical referrals to multidisciplinary teams. Dialogue supports a digital phlebotomy platform, which facilitates convenient and timely blood collection, and enables pharmacy phlebotomy to be developed across the NHS.
Tell us about your innovation
Patients are frequently turned away from phlebotomy clinics due to forgotten paper forms, and 80% of all blood tubes are re-labelled to go onto the analyser. This came to a head during COVID, with telemedicine. This led us to design a digital phlebotomy platform, which operates seamlessly anytime and anywhere.
The platform connects community diagnostic centres (CDCs) to electronic orders which supports to speed up the phlebotomy process. In addition, it removes the manual labelling of tubes, and its scanning updates the system with the exact time and date taken.
Our solution aims to save money in Pathology through reduced re-labelling and mitigates labelling errors and accelerates analysis. Additionally, it contributes to environmental sustainability whilst empowering doctors with real-time, precise data
