Are you a patient whose experience has led you to develop a healthcare innovation? Do you want to learn new skills to help scale this idea? Then we would like to hear from you
The NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme (CEP) is offering a 12-month pilot programme for people who have experience of a long-term health condition and are working on healthcare innovations.

The NHS CEP Patient Entrepreneur Programme, ran by Anglia Ruskin University and in collaboration NHS England’s Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) team, is free, part-time, and open to all patients, or carers with an innovation in healthcare. The programme aims to give individuals the skills and knowledge to develop their innovation, while giving them access to a network of mentors, healthcare experts, and patient support.
“At the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme (CEP), we are committed to placing patients at the centre of our work. We believe that transforming healthcare is a collective effort, and we are excited to announce the launch of the Patient Entrepreneur Programme this November. This programme offers patients and carers who have developed healthcare innovations or projects the opportunity to join the CEP and scale their ideas for the benefit of all.”
PROFESSOR TONY YOUNG OBE, NATIONAL CLINICAL DIRECTOR FOR INNOVATION AT NHS ENGLAND,
The CEP is a well-established programme of innovation, learning and development. This pilot allows patients to join this respected programme while benefiting from additional wrap-around support and bespoke opportunities from the PPI.
“Being a patient entrepreneur, I have struggled with imposter syndrome but being a part of the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme has given me the confidence and the support network around me to understand how the NHS works and how I can bring my patient perspective to help improve care.”
SEB TUCKNOTT, PATIENT EXPERT, FOUNDER OF IBD RELIEF AND NHS CLINICAL ENTREPRENEUR.
