NHS England release research reports


NHS England have published the National Mental Health Report  and Learning Disabilities and Autism report which highlight the priority research areas to inform national policy and support NHS Long Term Plan targets for England.

These reports aim to improve the quality of life of people living with mental health conditions and learning disabilities and autism.

Mental Health:

NHS England has published a demand signalling report focusing on Mental Health. Written in collaboration with clinicians, academics, policy experts and people with lived experience, the report identifies and signals priority research questions to help guide research into Mental Health to support the delivery of the ambitions set out in the NHS Long Term Plan. The areas captured will be used to influence research activity and funding calls to help us deliver the care that will make the biggest difference to patients.

Learning Disability and Autism:

NHS England have published a new Learning Disability and Autism demand signalling report, signalling priority research questions to influence research into this area. The report was drafted in collaboration with clinicians, academics, policy experts and people with lived experience to identify high-priority areas to support the NHS Long Term Plan’s ambitious target to reduce the number of people with learning disabilities and autism in inpatient care. The areas captured will be used to guide research activity and funding calls to help deliver the care needed by people with learning disabilities and autism and their families.
