Sunday the 10th of September was World Suicide Prevention Day 2023, with “Creating Hope Through Action” as the theme, which serves as a powerful reminder that there is an alternative to suicide. Our actions, no matter how big or small, may provide hope to those who are struggling.
World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) was established in 2003 by the International Association for Suicide Prevention in conjunction with the World Health Organization (WHO). It is an opportunity to raise awareness of suicide and to promote action through proven means that will reduce the number of suicides and suicide attempts globally.
The NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme is passionate about encouraging open and honest conversations around suicide awareness, and we foster a welcoming community culture, where we support one-another. Through regular check-ins, a resource booklet, signposting to support and the sharing of personal stories, we aim to support the health and wellbeing of all our Clinical Entrepreneurs.
Suicide can affect every one of us. By raising awareness, reducing the stigma & encouraging action we can help to reduce the instances of suicide around the world. #WSPD2023
