Welcoming the 2025 Cohort of the NHS Clinical, Patient, and Dementia Innovators Programme

application results are out

We are thrilled to announce the results of the NHS Clinical, Patient, and Dementia Innovators Programme for 2025. This year we welcome 216 entrepreneurs who are set to drive innovation within health and social care.

A Record-Breaking Year

This year, we received an record number of applications, reflecting the growing interest and passion for healthcare innovation. The competition for a place on the programme was exceptionally high, with each application undergoing a meticulous evaluation process. Three independent assessors reviewed each application, and the results were then ratified by an internal assessment review panel. We extend our thanks to everyone who applied and shared their innovative ideas with us.

New Collaborations and Expansions

We are particularly excited to announce that this is the first year we are collaborating with the Alzheimer’s Society on the new Dementia Innovators Programme. This partnership aims to foster groundbreaking solutions to improve the lives of those affected by dementia. We are confident that this collaboration will bring fresh perspectives and innovative approaches to dementia care.

In addition to the new Dementia Innovators Programme, we are also welcoming the second cohort of the Patient Programme. This initiative continues to empower patients to take an active role in healthcare innovation, ensuring that their unique insights and experiences shape the future of healthcare.

This year, we are proud to continue our partnerships with Northern Ireland (Invest Northern Ireland and HIRANI) , Scotland, the Republic of Ireland (University of Galway) and Wales. This expansion reflects our commitment to fostering innovation across all regions and ensuring that our healthcare service benefits from a wide range of perspectives and expertise.

Looking Ahead

As we welcome our new cohort, we are inspired by the innovative ideas and passion for healthcare transformation demonstrated by both staff and patients. We look forward to seeing the impact of their work on our healthcare service and the positive changes they will bring to patient care.

We would like to express our gratitude to all our assessors who supported this process and to everyone who took the time to apply.
